Artist's Description
This was a freehand study I did of Amy Johnson for practice. Amy was a the English "Amelia Earhart" and was contemporary with Amelia. Amy Johnson flew solo from England to Austrailia and from England to Africa. During WWII, Amy was a ferry pilot. Her plane was lost, supposedly due to a navigation error, and crashed in the river. A rescue ship attempt failed and her body was never recovered.

Bob Wilson, Jr. has inherited his fathers talent. After making a career at the Charleston Naval Shipyard as an engineer, Bob, Jr. started up a desktop publishing business called Fine Art Reproductions that is primarily involved in the reproduction of art work done by Charleston, SC low country artists. He studied the art of portrait painting under his father and has embarked on a career in the fine art of portraiture.
